C.R.O.P.S. is Communities Revolutionizing Open Public Spaces, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to alleviate food insecurity through empowering healthy, interconnected communities by cultivating fresh produce, ensuring access to nutritious food, providing educational programming, and advocating for sustainable food systems and collaborative solutions.

Programs

Cultivating Fresh Produce

We grow vegetables, fruits, herbs & flowers in the Community Gardens that we manage (The Arc Community Garden in Pleasantville & Fisherman’s Park Community Garden in Atlantic City). These Community Gardens are open to the public for enjoyment, harvesting nutritious produce and weekly Garden Club.

Ensuring Access to Nutritious Food

We manage multiple Farmers Markets in Atlantic County that are SNAP/EBT, WIC & SFMNP authorized, as well as Atlantic City’s first Food Hub, a Corner Store Refrigeration Program, and our Farm Share Program of produce available for bi-weekly pickup in Atlantic City.

Providing Educational Programming

We teach our UCAN (Urban Coastal Agriculture Programs), a ‘Gardening & Nutrition’ Workshop series, partner with Atlantic City Schools, agencies and other nonprofits to teach garden programs, and facilitate Paid Internships.
